South Bend Police asking for help finding murder suspect

The South Bend Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in a 2022 homicide.

On Oct. 6, 2022, 30-year-old Domenik Briggs was shot and killed inside a home on W. Indiana Avenue.

Through an investigation by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, 18-year-old Marquis Duncan was identified as a suspect.

On January 22, 2024, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office charged Duncan with Murder for his role in Briggs’ death.

On February 7, the warrant became unsealed in an effort to further aid in his apprehension.

Marquis Duncan should be considered armed and dangerous. If you have information about his whereabouts or see Duncan, do not approach. Instead, call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP to leave an anonymous tip.
