Michigan’s Secretary of State to appear at Benton Harbor’s Black Summit event

Michigan’s Secretary of State will make an appearance at this weekend’s Black Summit in Benton Harbor.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson will deliver a speech to kick off the event on Friday, and address voting issues faced by black voters.

WSJM reports that black leaders from around the state will attend the event, which will also feature entertainment. Secretary Benson will also bring the mobile Secretary of State branch office, which will be parked outside of the Mendel Center and offer the usual branch services to anyone who needs them.

Lake Michigan College is hosting the event Friday and Saturday, and you can find ticket information at the Black Summit website by clicking here.
