The City of South Bend has released an RFP for the City’s new Financial Empowerment Center.

They’ve released the RFP for qualified nonprofit organizations to serve as the financial counseling provider for the center.

The Center is a program developed by the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, a national organization that helps improve the financial stability of low and moderate income households by embedding financial empowerment strategies into local government infrastructure.

The Center will provide one-on-one financial counseling from professionals to South Bend residents at no cost to the resident. The selected nonprofit will be responsible for running the daily operations of the Center.

There will be a webinar on February 20 at 10 a.m. to provide further information and address questions about the RFP.

Nonprofits will have until April 15 to submit their proposals to the City.
