A jury has found 25-year-old Javante Walker guilty of the murder of 24-year-old Montell O’Neal on September 12, 2021, in South Bend.

According to court records, the jury also determined Walker’s guilt regarding the firearm enhancement charge.

The sentencing guidelines for the murder conviction range from 45 to 65 years, with an additional 5 to 20 years for the firearm enhancement, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Walker is set to be sentenced on March 14.
