St. Joseph County Commissioners have fired Sharon McBride from her role as the Director of the DuComb Center. They’ve appointed Julie Lawson as the Interim Director, effective immediately.

In a statement, the commissioners said the decision “comes on the heel of a comprehensive internal investigation at DuComb Center aimed at ensuring the continued delivery of the highest quality services to our community and the individuals served by the center.”

The investigation continues into policy abuses and staffing irregularities at the center, which helps former inmates return to society.
