Elkhart County Homicide Unit announces investigation of body found near St. Joe River

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has announced an investigation of the body found near the St. Joe River last week.

The body, identified as 43-year-old William Hensley of Elkhart, was found on February 20, and an autopsy was performed with the death being ruled as suspicious.

Hensley went missing in late December, and due to some of the circumstances reported, the Homicide Unit started an investigation.

According to a statement from the Elkhart Prosecutor’s Office, the autopsy results are still pending, and the case is considered an active and ongoing investigation.
