A Dowagiac man pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a building with intent to commit larceny earlier this week.
It happened in March of last year at a Silver Creek Township home.
Matthew Smith of Dowagiac was identified by a neighbor’s camera and a tip that stolen jewelry had been sold at a South Bend pawn shop.
Smith was sentenced to three years probation, credit for 80 days served and completion of the Adult Treatment Court and the Twin County Probation program.
According to Leader Publications, Smith has already been involved in the Twin County Probation program and has a job that will start soon.
Judge Mark Herman warned Smith that the stakes are higher this time in the program and that if he violates his probation, he will be going to prison.
