Michigan’s Mosquito March hits the calendar

Mosquito season has arrived early in Michigan.

The record-high temperatures have brought the little blood suckers out earlier than usual. Mosquitoes are usually most active between June and September, peaking in July.

Mosquitoes aren’t spreading diseases at this time of the year, but residents in The Great Lakes State are being encouraged to protect themselves from being bitten.

Usually, an early turnout for mosquitoes indicates that the population will be more thick than usual come summer
