Elkhart man sentenced to jail time for fleeing from police

An Elkhart man who fled the police last December was sentenced to jail time on Monday.

Eliezer Duran pleaded guilty to fleeing police and resisting and obstructing police for the incident that happened in Niles Township last year.

According to Leader Publications, the 41-year-old’s defense attorney says Duran has tried to improve himself while he has been in jail and has earned a number of certificates for completing programs.

Duran was sentenced to three concurrent terms of 270 days in jail.
