Michigan communities scramble to prepare for new energy law regulations

(95.3 MNC)

Regulators in Michigan are running out of time to put regulations in place before a new energy law takes effect this year.

The state has nine months to figure out the new energy law, which shifts permitting authority for large-scale wind and solar arrays from local governments to the state. Bridge Michigan reports that local experts need more guidance quickly about how to comply with the new law and write their ordinances before it takes effect on November 29.

Thursday, a panel of experts, advocates and citizens listed a number of unanswered questions that need to be addressed. The commission looking at the situation has more meetings planned in the coming months, and a rules recommendation is expected in June.

I can’t wait for the solar and wind to fail like it did in Germany and Europe a few years back and they had to restart their coal fired plants because it was a disaster. You think you have power outages now, wait to this gets implemented.

Will this new law allow the state to force a community to have a commercial solar/wind farm built in their region even when they don’t want it?

Yes it will Lenny, that’s the entire point. Their opinion is that local voters don’t know what’s good for themselves, the big brains at the state level need to dictate what happens. How enlightened and progressive, eh?

I have a water wheel that runs in my creek, guess I could lease that out? The people of this state need to wake the hell up. This woman and her constituents have taken away or implemented more loss of personnel rights than any previous administrations.

I’m starting to think I should be calling this state Rusha Michigan instead of USA Michigan
This administration Federal and State have been doing this best to ruin our country that’s right our country because without us there’s is no country except for this administration would just do away with the border police and let them just flow into the country to replace us
Then they would have the population that would stand by and let the government do what ever they won’t without questioning it
