With less than a year on the job, the lead health officer for the St. Joseph County is stepping down.
Dr. Diana Purushotham spoke, earlier this week, to the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners President about her planned resignation. According to the South Bend Tribune, she says she plans to relocate, as her husband takes a new job. She was selected by the health board to take over the position last summer at a salary of $250,000.
The St. Joseph County Department of Health released the following information:
The St. Joseph County Department of Health is announcing the resignation of Health Officer, Dr. Diana
Purushotham effective June 6, 2024. This resignation comes as her and her family are relocating out of State.
Dr. Purushotham is grateful for her time at the Department and is sad to leave the Department at a time of such exciting growth.
She is encouraging all to attend the upcoming SJC Board of Health meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2024,
beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the 4th floor Chambers of the County City Building at 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend.
