A man accused of trying to kill his own father has been appointed a third psychological evaluation.

Domonique Edwards is accused of shooting and injuring his father, Anthony Shaw, while at Shaw’s home in November of 2020. While visiting the home, witnesses say Edwards grabbed a pillow, went to Shaw’s bedroom and fired a gun through the pillow at him.

According to The Goshen News, the witnesses described Edwards as acting strangely and possibly being on drugs before the shooting.

Edwards was arrested in December of 2020 after an Elkhart police officer was dispatched to Morehouse Avenue to investigate a report of suspicious activity.

The evaluation will determine sanity. His trial remains scheduled for November 4.
