The final Goshen resident accused of election finance fraud had his initial hearing on Thursday.
Jose Elizalde met with Judge Teresa Cataldo to have an initial plea of “not guilty” entered, learn charges and schedule future court dates.
The Goshen News says Elizalde is charged with filing a fraudulent report and accepting a contribution made in somebody elses name after allegedly filing fraudulent campaign finance reports during Goshen’s school board elections in 2022.
Elizalde is just one of five individuals charged in the case, and he is one of three current sitting board members charged. His pretrial conference is scheduled for June 26 with a jury trial scheduled for July 8.

No one in Goshen or anywhere else in Elkhart County should have any doubts why your kids are being taught GARBAGE. When school board members and former elected officials cannot abide by the law why expect you kids to have a great role model, except for crime.
