Two men shot in separate incidents at Miami Hills, Beacon Heights in South Bend

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating two separate shootings that happened on Thursday.

On March 28, around 3:30 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the 3500 block of High Street (Miami Hills) on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim in his 20s, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the hospital and, at last check, was reported to be in stable condition.

Roughly 90 minutes following the shooting at Miami Hills, South Bend Police were dispatched to another reported shooting in the 3400 block of Ardmore Trail (Beacon Heights).

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim in his 20s, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting also damaged a power line, leading to a temporary power outage and a response from AEP.

Violent Crimes Unit detectives are continuing to investigate both shootings.
