New Carlisle EV battery plant plans continues to move forward

(Photo supplied/General Motors/Samsung)
Rumors that the E-V battery plant project planned for New Carlisle is on hold are just that… rumors.
That’s the word from Bill Schalliol, who’s the county’s executive director for economic development.
He tells The South Bend Tribune, crews are performing excavation work at the site and are working on getting the land ready, building retention ponds and working on getting water, sewer, gas and electrical infrastructure ready.
He also tells the Tribune that the project is on schedule as far as GM, Samsung SDI and the contractors are concerned.

Before you cheer this on, ask what kind of “economic development” is allowed to happen in Bill Schalliol’s backyard.

I bet there isn’t any. He sure is happy to run roughshod over the citizens of New Carlisle though!
