Three juveniles were arrested after a late-night pursuit on Monday.

Around 10:15 p.m., dispatch was notified of a shooting that happened in Michigan City with a suspect vehicle described as a white Volkswagen Jetta that had been stolen.

A trooper spotted the suspect vehicle with the license plate matching the description. However, when the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and accelerated away at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit continued onto I-94 and under the S.R. 49 overpass before making a U-turn on the interstate and driving the wrong way onto the S.R. 49 westbound entrance ramp.

A front seat passenger then exited the vehicle and ran, while the other occupants, ages 17, 15 and 12, were taken into custody without further incident.

The passenger that fled was not located, though the other three juveniles are being held on charges including Theft of a Firearm, Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving and more.
