Democrats back in control of Michigan House

The Democratic Party is back in control of the Michigan House and with that, they’re firmly in charge in Lansing for the rest of the year.

The special election on Tuesday brought to an end a months-long stalemate between the parties that occurred when two Democratic House members stepped down to take mayoral positions in the state, creating the temporary tie.

The majority could be short-lived, however, as all 110 seats will be up for grabs again in the fall in the November general election.
