A man has been arrested and charged with shooting a woman at an apartment on the city’s east side.

It was back on April 9, at about 6:45 a.m., when South Bend Police responded to a shooting at River Shore Apartments on Northside Boulevard.

They found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police investigation led to the identification of Juwantay Addison, 18, as the suspect. He was arrested on Thursday, April 18, with the help of the St. Joseph County U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Addison is charged with Domestic Battery using a Deadly Weapon and Battery using a Deadly Weapon.

He is currently in custody at St. Joseph County Jail.
