One person hurt in 3-vehicle crash on State Road 19 in front of Nappanee Missionary Church

One person was injured in a three-vehile crash on State Road 19 north of Nappanee.

The collision happened just after 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, in front of Nappanee Missionary Church.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say a 46-year-old Wakarusa woman turned from the church entrance on to 19 in front of a southbound vehicle, causing the first crash.

The Wakarusa woman’s vehicle was spun by the impact, then collided head on with a vehicle driven by a Nappanee man that was waiting to turn left at the church.

The Wakarusa woman suffered rib fractures and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.

She was also cited for failure to yield the right of way.
