It’s four years at the Indiana Department of Corrections for a man accused of burglarizing a local business.

In August of 2022, the manager at Mastec on Pine Creek Road reported to police that someone had broken into the prison, pried the tool cabinets open, cut the tool cage chain and stolen many tools.

According to The Goshen News, a security camera showed a vehicle pulling up around 3:10 a.m. and leaving about an hour and a half later.

Some missing tools were found with 38-year-old Matthew McKinley, and DNA swabs confirmed a match to swabs taken at the site. McKinley admitted to the burglary and apoligized at the sentencing for his actions, stating that it would not have happened if he was not on drugs.

He was setneced for Battery to four years at the IDOC with two years suspended on reporting probation.
