$205,296 collected during annual Radiothon for Five Star Life

(Jon Zimney/953 MNC)

The 13th annual radiothon for Five Star Life concluded on Friday, April 26, with a total of more than $205,000. The money collected will go toward Five Star Life’s array of programs that benefit thousands of local students and their families.

The donations came from local listeners, as well as friends of Five Star, area businesses and Five Star backers.

Five Star Life teaches children five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, sacrifice and courage in after-school programs for middle school students, their K-12 video curriculum, through Five Star at Camp Summit and their basketball league as well as their SNAP Leadership program with area detention centers.

Some of the money will also be used to rebuild Five Star’s “Life” building, which was heavily damaged by fire earlier this year.

Even though this year’s radiothon has ended, you can still donate on Five Star Life’s website.
