Indiana family files lawsuit against Ford for defect in seatbelt causing death in crash

An Indiana family has filed a federal lawsuit against Ford Motor Company for a defect in the seatbelt of a man’s Ford 350 pickup truck causing his death in a crash on US-131 in Kalamazoo County, Michigan in 2022.
Harlan Slabaugh was killed when his truck was rear-ended on August 14th, 2022 and rolled several times.
He was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The lawsuit claims there were defects in the seat belt, driver’s seat, and door latch that caused his death.
