The skies above our corner of The Midwest have been busy in recent weeks, but another spate of wildfires in Canada could bring a repeat of last summer.
First there was a total solar eclipse, and then a light show from the Aurora Borealis thanks to a massive solar storm. But the big story last year was the smoke from Canadian wildfires, and some in Michigan say the region can expect more of the same this coming summer.
The noxious smoke caused eye irritation, lung damage, and asthma attacks…and those fires have become more common, as have the conditions that carry the smoke over our area.
Furthermore, a warmer-than-usual forecast for this summer will increase other health risks, as well.
