A man has been sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court to a total of 9 years in prison for a crash that resulted in the death of another man.
It was back in April of 2022 when prosecutors say Raudel Nunez, 24, was driving a GMC Sierra when he illegally passed another vehicle at high speed in a no-passing zone on U.S. 33.
He collided with a Chevy Cobalt driven by Batres Beltran, 48, resulting in Beltran’s death, The Goshen News reports.
According to court documents, Nunez initially tried to hide his identity but was later identified and found to have traces of drugs in his system through a blood test.
