Ports of Indiana announce new infrastructure and expansion projects

(Ports of Indiana)

The Ports of Indiana say more than $77 million in infrastructure and expansion projects are in the works at Burns Harbor.

It’s part of a record construction season at the Lake Michigan port, including the building of a highway bridge entering the port, three new ship berths, a new bulk warehouse, a pair of new railyards, an industrial site, and extensive rehabilitation of docks and rails.

Port Director Ryan McCoy says it’s “an exciting time” for the port, which has an aggressive investment strategy to attract new business to Northwest Indiana.
