Abandoned puppies find new homes with SBPD employees

(Photo Supplied/South Bend Police Department)
Remember that litter of puppies that was found abandoned in a tote along the side of the road in South Bend?
We are happy to report that two of those pups have been adopted by two of our own!
SBPD Financial Specialist Sarrah Ake chose Umi (black and white) and Violent Crimes Unit Detective Nick Pogotis chose Nala (tan and white)!
We’re told the other pups in the litter are also spoken for. Sarrah and Det. Pogotis first offered to foster their pups… but it didn’t take long for that foster experience to turn into official adoptions.
Ron Kaszas, who works in our crime lab, initially fostered all six puppies as South Bend Animal Resource Center – SBARC was on an intake hold due to parvo quarantine.
It’s safe to say these pups are quite pleased with their new parents! Remember… SBARC has plenty of other cuddly friends waiting for their new homes this summer.
