Mishawaka Common Council approves electricity rate hike

The Mishawaka Common Council unanimously approved a proposed increase in electric utility rates.

The plan will raise rates by 3.75%, about $4 per year, for ratepayers from 2025 through 2030.

Council President Gregg Hixenbaugh acknowledged that the decision was difficult but believes it is in the city’s and its residents’ best interest.
