The St. Joseph County Election Board has ruled against Penn-Harris-Madison School Board candidate Ben Dallas, who was attempting to go by the name “Ben Dallas MAGA” on the ballot.

WSBT reports that Dallas pointed at a rule that allows a candidate to use a nickname, but the Election Board counters that he filed incorrectly using two nicknames.

Dallas decided to drop his candidacy but says he will look into the appeal process.
