Another Michiana school district will be providing its students with free meals for the upcoming school year.

Officials with the School City of Mishawaka say all students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch at school for the 2024-2025 school year. It’s the same program that has been in place for a couple years now at the South Bend Community School Corporation, and Elkhart Community Schools will participate this year as well.

It’s made possible by implementing the Community Eligibility Provision for meals served on the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.

The program begins on the first day of school, and a la carte items will still be available for students to purchase.
