Three people are recovering from injuries after a car vs horse and buggy collision. It happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, on County Road 4 east of State Road 13.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say a 2018 Hyundai Accent driven by a 17-year-old Middlebury girl was traveling westbound when it approached two horses and buggies.
The driver entered the oncoming to pass both horses and buggies when the second horse and buggy turned in front of the vehicle.
The driver swerved back into the westbound lane and struck the back of one of the buggies, injuring a 9-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and 44-year-old woman. They were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for their injuries.

Those weird people need to keep those things off the roads.
Tough to get anywhere not using, you know, roads. Shall we apply the same to bicycles? Scooters? Anything not a car? Set a minimum speed limit for all vehicles including cars with slow drivers?
