South Bend to host neighborhood visioning meeting to discuss plans for former public housing sites

The City, in partnership with the Housing Authority of South Bend, invites residents to a neighborhood visioning meeting to discuss redevelopment plans for the former Rabbi Shulman and Monroe Circle sites on Thursday, August 8 from 6-8pm at The Salvation Army Kroc Center. 
 
Plans for the redevelopment of the two former public housing sites, located on Western Avenue between Scott and Taylor Streets, will be included in the City’s Downtown Plan. Initial concept plans for the sites include new affordable housing and community spaces.   
 
The meeting will include a brief presentation, followed by opportunities to provide input on ideas for redevelopment of the site. 
 
Residents can also provide feedback through an online survey at https://together.southbendin.gov/neighborhood-visioning-hasb
