Stolen vehicle driver leads police on chase through Mishawaka, South Bend, St. Joseph County

The driver of a reported stolen vehicle led Mishawaka Police and St. Joseph County Police on a chase through Mishawaka, South Bend, and parts of unincorporated St. Joseph County.

It happened around 4:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

The pursuit began at the intersection of Grape and Cleveland Roads.

The pursuit lasted nearly an hour, but came to an abrupt end near the intersection of State Road 933 and Auten Road after the 36-year-old man behind the wheel hit some stop sticks. He was then taken into custody without any further incident.
