Man arrested for hit-and-run, DUI in Goshen

Goshen Police responded to a hit-and-run incident in the 1000 block of W. Plymouth Avenue.
The call came in just before 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sep. 7, prompting officers to search for the suspect involved.
Authorities located the suspect, Gerardo Rodriguez, 21, of Goshen, near the intersection of State Road 15 and Waterford Mills Parkway. Rodriguez was identified as having fled the scene of the crash, resisted law enforcement, and operated a vehicle while intoxicated.
Rodriguez refused to submit to a chemical test, leading officers to obtain a search warrant for further testing. He is currently held at the Elkhart County Jail, awaiting test results.
