Neighbors along County Road 2 in Elkhart County are worried about speeding.
One resident actually took action and purchased a radar gun to document the speeds. WSBT reports the speed limit on County Road 2 is 45 mph, but poor signage makes it unclear, leading to complaints about speeders.
One resident has asked the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department to set up speed traps– clocking vehicles going more than 80 miles per hour.
Captain Michael Culp with the Sheriff’s Department tells WSBT they’ve responded to 11 crashes this year.
He also says residents using a radar gun isn’t illegal, but should be done with caution.
