Loaded magazine found at Navarre Middle School: Police investigating

The South Bend Police Department is investigating after a loaded magazine was discovered at Navarre Middle School on Monday, Sep. 30.
Although no firearms have been found on the premises, the school was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
The lockdown was eventually lifted and the school dismissed students at the usual time.
Contrary to circulating rumors on social media, there was no intruder involved in the incident.
Authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported.
The South Bend Police are working closely with officials from the South Bend Community School Corporation as the investigation continues.
