Counties across Indiana receive $1 million to enhance voting security before early voting for the general election starting October 8.
Elkhart County will receive $33,500 to purchase two laptops, a computer, printers, and a backup vault for ballots. These upgrades are essential to protect against flood damage, fire, or confiscation of voting equipment.
During a recount for Hendricks and Elkhart counties, Elkhart County Clerk Christopher Anderson noted that their equipment was impounded in May.
