Local towing company removes excavator from St. Joseph River

(Alyssa Foster/95.3 MNC)

Elkhart’s Tom’s Towing used huge wreckers to lift and drag an 83,000-pound piece of construction equipment out of the St. Joseph River after a contractor working on Mishawaka’s Cedar Street bridge accidentally drove an excavator off of it on Monday.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

WSBT says the bridge is expected to be complete by next September.
