Goshen fire crews called to fight fire on train

Goshen fire crews were called to fight a fire on a passing train.

According to police reports, the fire was reported around 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, on the train that was traveling along the tracks near the 4500 block of Elkhart Road.

The train was able to come to a stop near 1700 Egbert Avenue, where local fire crews from the Goshen Fire Department responded. The firefighters extinguished the flames before the situation escalated, preventing further damage or injury.

No injuries were reported. There was no word about the cause of the fire.
