A mother who brought her malnourished baby to the hospital pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent.

Brittney Dickens arrived at Elkhart General Hospital with her three-month-old in December of 2022.

Doctors say her baby seemed extremely malnourished with dirty clothing and frostbite on his foot.

The Goshen News says the child was transferred to Riley Children’s Hospital in life-threatening condition and was discharged to a foster home later that month.

Dickens was charged with neglect of a dependent. Her sentencing is scheduled for November 7.
