A 76-year-old Edwardsburg, Michigan man was involved in a single-vehicle crash at a roundabout at the intersection of County Road 6 and Ash Road.
The crash happened on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 23, when the driver of a 2001 Ford Explorer, traveling east on County Road 6, lost control of the vehicle.
The SUV accelerated through the roundabout, struck a curb, and veered off the road. It then collided with a lamp post before tipping over onto its right side and sliding across the road, coming to rest at the median.
The crash was attributed to a medical issue experienced by the driver at the time. Both the driver and one passenger were transported to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of pain. Authorities confirmed that the driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not cited for the incident.
