Fatal shooting under investigation in Elkhart County; One dead, another critically injured

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another critically injured.

It happened around 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, in the 700 block of County Road 3 North in Elkhart.

Officers from the Elkhart Police Department arrived on the scene to find two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, one victim, identified as Romulo Jesus Reyes Osuna, 33, of Elkhart, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation, which remains ongoing. At this time, no arrests have been made.
