Mishawaka Police are investigating an incident involving members of the St. Joseph County Republican Party.

County Councilman Dan Schaetzle contacted police at told he was addressing the crowd at an event when G-O-P co-chair Joe Layne allegedly snatched the microphone he was using. Schaetzle said that Layne then shoved him.

Schaetzle filed his report with Mishawaka Police approximately seven hours after the incident occurred and apparently then sought medical attention due to back pain, according to police.
