Veteran homelessness at a record low

Veteran homeless is at a record low nationwide and is down 13% in Indiana, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The 2024 Point-in-Time Count was released this week and those results show that 13% decrease in Indiana since 2023.
The PIT Count is annual count of both sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January.
There were 422 homeless veterans in Indiana in January 2024, which was down from 488 the year before.
