Miami Hills Apartments death ruled a homicide

The death of a woman, last month, at Miami Hills Apartments in South Bend has been ruled a homicide.
Police were called back on Tuesday, Oct. 22, to the 3300 block of High Street to conduct a welfare check. When they got there, they found 42-year-old Joyce Montague, who was unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead.
The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit began investigating.
The preliminary autopsy results elevated the case to “homicide” status.
