There was gunfire, late Sunday night, Nov. 17, in Mishawaka. The shots were fired around 11:30 p.m. on Linden Avenue near Beiger Street, near Eberhart Golf Course, marking the fourth reported shooting over the weekend in the Princess City.
One person was injured, but there was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries.
Several minutes later, officers were sent to the 1000 block of Jackson Street. Shots were fired into this house, striking it several times.
Mishawaka police had been investigating three separate shootings that occurred early Sunday morning, leaving one person injured and two homes damaged.
The first incident took place just after 12 a.m. in the 200 block of Baker Street, where shots were fired, striking a house. No injuries were reported.
The second call came in around 2:55 a.m., involving gunfire near the 3000 block of Lincoln Way East and the 100 block of South Kline Street. Authorities reported no injuries or property damage in that incident.
The third shooting was reported at approximately 4:25 a.m. in the 200 block of East Donaldson Street. Gunfire struck the house, injuring one individual inside. Police described the injury as non-life-threatening.
Mishawaka Police stress that this type of violence will not be tolerated in their community. These cases are being investigated by the Mishawaka Police Department Major Crimes Unit of their detective bureau. If anyone has any information, they are urged to contact the bureau at 574-258-1684.
