Shots fired on East 10th Street: Police investigate shooting incident

Officers from Michigan City Police responded to reports of gunfire on the 700 block of East 10th Street.
The calls came in around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Upon arrival, officers found no victim at the scene but observed evidence of gunfire and learned multiple individuals had fled the area on foot and by vehicle. Witnesses were interviewed, and evidence was collected as part of the initial investigation.
Shortly after the incident was reported, a victim arrived at the Michigan City Police Department in a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. The victim, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to Franciscan Hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Detectives were called in to assist with the investigation, focusing on interviewing witnesses, identifying potential suspects, reviewing surveillance footage from the area, and processing the collected evidence.
Police have not released further details, citing the need to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
