Deadly shooting on Monroe Street in Elkhart under investigation

A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead following a shooting in Elkhart.

Police were alerted to the incident around 6:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, after a 911 call reported a shooting with injuries in the 700 block of Monroe Street. Officers found the victim unresponsive outside a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. No arrests have been made, and authorities describe the case as active and ongoing.
