Elkhart man sentenced for dealing marijuana

Elkhart resident Esequiel Cervantes III was sentenced for dealing marijuana last week.

The Elkhart County ICE Unit began investigating Cervantes in 2022 after receiving reports of him dealing marijuana and having firearms at his home.

He had already been convicted of dealing in marijauna and possession of a handgun without a license a few months prior.

A search warrant turned up over 1,800 grams of marijuana.

Cervantes was sentenced on a charge of Dealing in Marijuana to five years at the Indiana Department of Corrections with two years suspended on reporting probation and the remaining time to be served on home detention.
