One dead, two injured in chemical company accident

A workplace accident in LaPorte County on Tuesday, Dec. 10, left one person dead and two others injured.
The victim, Joseph Ehrhart of LaPorte County, was flown to a South Bend hospital after the explosion and later died on Monday, Dec. 16.
The incident took place at Alexander Chemical in the Kingsbury Industrial Park.
Contractors were working on an empty storage tank when firefighters responded to reports of the explosion.

How can an empty tank explode?

Vapors are move explosive than liquids in general. Almost anything that has been arisolized is explosive.
