Notre Dame held off a late comeback to take down Indiana, 27-17, in the inaugural game of the College Football Playoff. With the win, the Fighting Irish advanced to the quarterfinals, where they will face Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on January 1st. Running back Jeremiyah Love finished with eight carries for 108 yards and a 98-yard touchdown run. His score was the longest rush in CFP history. Notre Dame has won 11 straight games and is 12-and-1 on the season. The Hoosiers finished their season 11-and-2.
